Financial Accounting Analyst (FT) – Richmond, BC

About the Role

  • Prepare value-added monthly analysis of operating results to operations and business units and executive management
  • Communicate and prepare monthly forecasting
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax remittances – both provincial and state
  • Identify weaknesses in internal controls and makes recommendations for improvements in processing methods, workflows, procedures, and reporting efficiencies
  • Interpret various accounting data, analyzing reports and recommending actions to be taken
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of special statistical reports, detailed cost accounting information, surveys or analyses of a complex and difficult nature for management
  • Work with stakeholders to create the annual budget for assigned business units
  • Provide training and support on accounting systems, procedures and practices to the business units/operations
  • Assist in working papers preparation of year-end audit and corporate tax

Who We’re Looking For

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA) or equivalent with industry experience
  • CPA students will be considered with the right experience and motivation
  • Internal financial reporting background
  • Project accounting experience an asset
  • Intermediate and advanced computer skills using Windows and MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • NAV Dynamics experience and familiarity with various financial systems considered an asset
  • Experience with data analysis in large distribution businesses
  • Expertise in working with spreadsheets, databases, strong understanding of financial concepts and data
  • Ability to review financial information and prepare meaningful analysis
  • Strong business sense and understanding of inventory and related issues
